Frequency to Non-Compliance to Oral Iron Therapy in Pregnancy and Common Factors Leading to it

OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study was to determine frequency non-compliance oral iron therapy in pregnancy and common factors leading it. METHODOLOGY: It a cross-sectional done the Department Obstetrics Gynecology Lady Willington Hospital Lahore, Pakistan. duration six months i.e., 3rd October 2019 2nd March 2020. All antenatal patients between ages 18 45 years presented obstetrics outdoors or admitted ward were included study. A total 245 by consecutive non-probability sampling. Patients with gynecological problems, dependent on others for their medication cost, psychiatric illness physical disability excluded. Post stratification Chi-square test applied keeping P-value ≤0.05 as significant RESULTS: Among patients, mean age 27±2.16 years. Iron supplement used analyzed 159 (65%) had while 86 (35%) didn’t use supplements (P-value 0.001). only 93 (38%) 152 (62%) supplements. CONCLUSION: coverage folic acid is very low surveyed districts Pakistan due lack parental education older aged women belonging poor households.
